✨ May 16, 2026 - Taurus New Moon
Saturday can feel like a Super Charged Two act day. Here is why:
First, we have our New Moon in Taurus at 3 pm CT. This is a New Moon that asks us to slow down, come back to the body, and trust what we can feel, touch, and sense as real. For many in the Northern Hemipshere we are outside planting seeds. This New Moon is asking to not only place them seeds in the ground, but intentions in the body.
The New Moon sits alongside the fixed star Algol, which carries the energy of Mars and Saturn combined — sudden, electric, and spiritually charged. Think - HUGE motivation to start something combined with wanting to create a plan as well. Algol has been described with the myths of Meudua and Lilith and many times can feel angry as a result. If you are feeling this type of feeling ask yourself - is it your anger or did you absorb someone elses. If you are mad can you find a safe outlet so you do not harm yourself or others at the same time? Sidenote: the roads may be really crazy with this energy and please be careful around sharp objects as well!
With this New Moon it is a good time to ask yourself what inherited beliefs or patterns are ready to be released. Mercury and Uranus are also close by, sparking unexpected ideas and mental breakthroughs. Remeber anytime Uranus is active there is also expect the unexpected synrocities as well as mental breakthroughs.
The day calls for flexibility of mind and openness of heart. A supportive present as well reminding us that even when things feel uncertain, there is quiet structure underneath holding us. There are no restrictions on manifesting, charging crystals, or making moon water with this New Moon. Plant what you mean. Mean what you plant.
Mantra: I am rooted, I am ready, and I trust what is growing through me.
The 2nd act of the day begins with a Hour and Twenty Minute Void of Course time from 8:02 pm CT - 9:22 pm CT when the Moon will move into Gemini. If you have plans for after that time you may find yourself very chatty! More on that though in the next section.
✨ May 17 , 2026
First, the Moon moves into Gemini on Saturday at 9:22 pm CT and stays there through Monday at 8:46 pm CT. One of the things I always notice under a Gemini Moon is the birds — they get very chatty! If you enjoy listening to them, there is a free app called Merlin that can help you identify who is calling out to you.
You may also find yourself drawn to being out and about — connecting with siblings, sending texts, or making posts on social media. Overall, your mind may feel very busy. Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo, and right now he is especially strong in the sky. The reason? Mercury moves into Gemini at 5:26 am CT, landing in one of his home signs.
Gemini's Mercury can feel curious, youthful, and spontaneous — full of questions and eager to try all the things, though maybe not always finishing them. Virgo's Mercury, by contrast, is more focused on the details and making sure everything is just so. Mercury will be moving through Gemini through June 1. How it affects you personally depends on which area of life — which house or houses — Gemini occupies in your chart.
On Saturday, May 23 at 12 pm ET / 9 am PT / 5 pm London, we will be doing a Deeper Dive into Mercury and the Gemini section of your chart. You can join through the Full Moon level of my membership or by registering via this link. There are 13 spots open — if more support is something you are looking for, I encourage you to check it out!
In addition to a busy mind, you may find your heart has opportunities to heal some old hurts around relationships or finances. There is also an openness to unexpected ideas and happenings throughout the day. Mercury and Uranus will meet up at 7:10 pm CT — their first meeting in Gemini — and it may feel like out-of-the-box ideas just arrive fully formed. If they do not make sense right away, do not worry. Just note them for when they do.
Before that meetup, the Moon slips into a 30-hour, 11-minute Void of Course period that carries us all the way through Monday evening at 8:46 pm CT. Since this stretches into the beginning of the work week, here is a helpful reminder of what these periods are great for — and what is worth skipping:
✅ Great for:
Meditating
Finishing up existing projects
Taking walks
Resting or napping
Creating a to-do list
🚫 Maybe skip:
Starting something brand new
Making major decisions
Being hard on yourself 🤪
Monday is going to be a very eventful day — as you will soon see. Taking breaks as needed is my number one piece of advice going in.
✨ May 18 and 19 , 2026
As mentioned in the previous section, we are in the middle of a 30-hour, 11-minute Void of Course period as Monday begins. You may feel a little fuzzy-headed — and that is okay. Know that nothing happens in isolation. The planets keep moving, and today we have two of them changing signs, in addition to the Moon moving into Cancer at 8:46 pm CT. So let's take it as it comes!
Mars moves into Taurus at 5:25 pm CT
Mars in our charts represents drive, determination, and motivation. In Aries — a sign Mars rules — he is all action, think later. In Taurus, he is asked to slow down, which is not a very Mars-like thing to do. For example, it may take a long time for anger to build while Mars is in Taurus, and usually only after something has been picked at for a while — a very different feel from the reactive, fiery energy of Aries. The good news is that if you want to dive deeply into something, Mars in Taurus will give you the kind of persistence to see it through. Just be sure to pause and look at the big picture from time to time — ask yourself if it is truly worth your energy, or if a different route might serve you better. Taurus is a fixed sign and can be very stubborn, and that energy is amplified with Mars here.
Venus moves into Cancer at 8:05 pm CT
Venus in our charts represents where we want to bring balance and harmony — to our relationships, finances, and values. In Cancer, she takes on a caretaking quality and can also speak to your actual home. You may feel more sentimental while she visits this sign through June 13. Family bonds — whether by blood or chosen — may strengthen or simply become more noticeable.
How Mars in Taurus and Venus in Cancer work for you personally depends on where these two signs fall in your chart — which houses they occupy and whether you have any natal planets there. They can amplify what is already unfolding in those areas of your life.
Moon into Cancer at 8:46 pm CT
The Moon slips into Cancer and stays until 9:47 pm CT on Wednesday. Every month when the Moon is in Cancer, things can feel tender — tears may flow easily, and taking care of yourself and those you love may feel like the top priority. This is also a highly intuitive sign, so follow your gut if it is nudging you somewhere. The Cancer Moon paired with the Taurus Sun can feel very healing, especially around feelings of safety — in the body and in the home. It is such a lovely combination to close out Taurus season with, as Gemini season begins Wednesday evening.
Moving into Tuesday, May 19
As you sleep Monday night, your dreams may be very active. Over these two days you may feel a desire to be close to a romantic partner — or simply a longing for partnership that feels safe and grounding. And while I said "romantically," this could just as easily be a deep friendship. You may also find yourself out and about on Tuesday, especially around your neighborhood.
There is a beautiful aspect between Mercury and Pluto that may bring deep, transformative insights to something you have been thinking through for the long term. If you have been seeing things through rose-colored glasses, this interaction may gently lift them. Conversations can feel intense — in the best way — when these two connect. If you have been wanting to restructure a belief or have a purposeful conversation with someone, allow space for that. The energy supports it.
One last note before we move to Wednesday — if you have a lot on your plate that day, I suggest making a to-do list before going to sleep Tuesday night. A 13-hour, 21-minute Void of Course window begins at 8:26 am CT on Wednesday, and having that list ready can help keep things moving in the direction you want.
✨ May 20, 2026
The Moon slips into a 13-hour, 21-minute Void of Course from 8:26 am – 9:47 pm CT, when she moves into Leo. This could make this last day of Taurus Season feel a little floaty. If you are feeling grouchy, going outside, drinking some water, and giving yourself a little extra grace may go a long way.
Before the Moon changes sign, the Sun moves into Gemini at 7:36 pm CT. Gemini is the third sign of the Zodiac and the first of the three Air Signs. The simplest way to think about Air Signs is through communication — how and when they communicate is everything. With the Sun now joining Mercury and Uranus in Gemini, we have a stellium — three bodies in the same sign — amplifying all things Gemini: curiosity, communication, and the unexpected. And if there is one guiding tone to carry into this season, let it be this — stay curious.
With Mercury and Uranus already in Gemini, your mind may feel like it is absolutely buzzing once the Sun joins them.
Reminder: Our Sun represents our Chi and life force, our Moon our emotions and inner world, and our Rising our soul and what we are aspiring to become.
🌞 Gemini Sun Communication is your life force. You love to share and express — whether through spoken or written words. Your mutable nature makes you wonderfully adaptable, and your mind is something to behold — always full of ideas and ready to explore them.
🌙 Gemini Moon Witty and charming by nature, though you may feel a little scattered at times. Your emotions are always being filtered through the mind — that is just the Gemini way. You have a gift for sparkling with imagination and drawing people into your world when you speak.
🌅 Gemini Rising You may always feel like you are on the move. When you share your thoughts there is a real clarity and conviction to them. Just watch the tendency to over-analyze — sometimes the best thing is to put the thinking down and simply be in the moment.
In my family, my husband is a Gemini Sun and my youngest is a Gemini Moon. It is so interesting to watch how they interact with this energy on the daily — the glimpses we get of it never get old.
At 9:47 pm CT the Moon slips into Leo, which could spark some really creative conversations. More on that in the next section.
✨May 21 and 22, 2026
As Thursday begins, there is a lot of "expect the unexpected" energy that can be felt — and may possibly even wake you up. Literally!
This combo of a Leo Moon in Gemini Season can lead to great creative conversations. It could also be a wonderful time to dive into a new book or movie, or simply enjoy a little drama. Just be careful about gossip — it can be easy to slip into under this Moon and Sun combo.
At 5:05 pm CT Thursday evening, the fog may start to roll in as our third long Void of Course Moon begins, carrying us all the way through Friday. That is 32 hours and 51 minutes. If you have a busy Friday, that to-do list I have mentioned throughout this week's weather will be your best friend.
On Friday, under this all-day Void of Course Moon, the Sun will meet up with Uranus for the first time since 1941–1949, when Uranus was last in Gemini. You may find yourself with sudden breakthroughs showing up in both the physical and mental realms — especially around how you can step into your most fully authentic self. This energy can lead to innovative action that feels fast and even technologically driven.
Flexibility will be key, as anything unexpected could happen — and likely will. Since this involves the Sun, you may feel a pull to change something personal about yourself or rebrand a professional image. Pay attention to any unique ideas that arise around projects, writing, or networking, because anything is possible. This is the first time the Sun and Uranus will interact in Gemini until 2033 — so whatever you begin this year may continue to build over the next seven as Uranus makes his way through this sign.
Beautiful aspects from Mercury to Saturn and Venus to the Nodes may also make themselves known through your communications, future plans, relationships, finances, and the path you are carving out for yourself. It could be a very impactful day — even under a Void of Course Moon. Write down anything you want to hold onto, as ideas may float away just as fast as they arrive with that Void of Course influence in the mix.
At 1:56 am CT Saturday, the Moon moves into Virgo, setting up for the First Quarter Moon later that day. More on that next week.
🌙 Closing Thoughts
What a week this is. We open with a grounding Taurus New Moon on Saturday, planting intentions in the body and freeing the mind from what no longer serves.
Sunday brings a special announcement and the seeds of something new.
By Sunday evening Mercury moves into Gemini, and the conversation — both inner and outer — picks up speed.
Monday and Tuesday ask us to feel deeply, dream actively, and think transformatively, even as a long Void of Course invites us to slow down and trust the process.
Wednesday welcomes Gemini Season officially, with the Sun joining Mercury and Uranus and lighting up the sky with curiosity, creativity, and the unexpected.
Thursday and Friday close the week with a rare and electric Sun-Uranus meetup — the first in Gemini since the 1940s — asking us to embrace our most authentic selves and stay open to breakthroughs we could not have planned for.
Stay curious, stay grounded, and write it all down. This week has something for everyone. 🌙
Until next week,
