Middle of Mercury Retrograde

Good morning, dear reader! 🌙

This week’s headline is “Moons and Midpoints” for a special reason. We have the Last Quarter Moon of this Libra New Moon cycle on Sunday and the Mercury Retrograde midpoint on Wednesday. It can feel like the endings are nearer in both cases.

I chose the picture of the road as the image for this week because I feel like the end is still a little blurry to us. In the monthly overview that will be shared on Sunday I mention that we have 5 planets in retrograde, and until Mars moves into Virgo later this month we will have no planets in Earth signs except for the Moon when she passes by. This can make the horizon blurry. That is normal. That is okay.

Here is what you can do with it though. Realize that you do not need to have all the answers right now. Reframe how you are looking at your relationships, finances, values, thought process, and communications. Do they still fit with the life you are living now?

I know I have been doing this personally. This past week I completely redid my website. I am highlighting and owning the fact that I am a parenting astrologer. This does not mean I do not help those who are not parents or do individual sessions. Not at all. It means it brings me joy to help parents understand their most precious child in this way, just like I help you understand yourself. I am still helping those who do not know their birth time learn the approximate time through Chart Rectification. I still give birthday discounts because you deserve to be celebrated for your birthday.

Those are my values. That is just some of what I realized for myself over this Venus Retrograde and Mercury Retrograde as they travel through my 7th and 6th houses. What are you learning? It is not over yet.

Venus Retrograde and Mercury Retrograde both end on November 13th and then the post-shadow begins.

There is a New Moon in Scorpio before that on November 8th or 9th depending on your time zone, and to get ready for it we will be having our Circle on Friday, November 6th. You are most welcome to join, and for those in the Between the Moons Patreon your seat is already saved. Info for my memberships, both written (Substack) and with video (Patreon), and the Circle can be found in the Link to All Things below.

Note: if you are using an iPhone it is better to copy and paste https://patreon.com/srbstars into a browser rather than signing up through the app, as the app will charge a surcharge that the website does not. We would love to have you inside!

Shall we dive in together? 🌙

✨November 1-2, 2026 | Leo Moon Last Quarter Moon

Sunday and Monday

The Moon: The Moon moved into Leo at 11:18 pm CT Saturday. We turn our clocks back an hour on Sunday for Daylight Saving, and the Last Quarter Moon arrives later in the day. We have this Leo Moon through 2:27 am CT Tuesday morning.

How to work with it: The Last Quarter Moon is the last push to release whatever still needs to be released from the Full Moon. There could be a frustration between wanting to be loud, seen, and dramatic versus wanting to be close, intimate, and have the deep conversation. If things get frustrating, lean on what brings you joy and what makes you laugh. Is there a movie you can turn on, or an activity that ignites your creativity? I have found that art and music can sometimes voice things that are hard to say. At 2:28 pm CT the Last Quarter Moon peaks at 9° Leo. If there is any frustration it may start to ease as the rest of the day goes on.

Other energy:

Sunday can feel like an expect-the-unexpected kind of day, especially emotionally. If there was trick-or-treating going on, it could also be the overwhelm from that. There may be a lot of ups and downs emotionally as the Moon checks in with all the outer planets, so seeing where you can bring joy or creativity to the situation may be helpful.

On Monday, as she continues through Leo, the Moon holds hands with Mars and Jupiter, giving a possible boost of energy as you move through your day. She also makes a beautiful aspect to Venus Retrograde that could have you wanting to connect with your special someone or a friend.

At 6:10 pm CT she slips into an 8 hour, 17 minute Void of Course window that lasts until 2:27 am CT Tuesday. That could leave you feeling fuzzy headed, with interesting dreams. During this window you may find yourself out and about with different activities. If you want to stay on track, a to-do list may be helpful.

✨ November 3-4, 2026 | Virgo Moon ➡️ Fuzzy Head again along with Midpoint of Mercury Retrograde

Tuesday and Wednesday

The Moon: The Moon will be in Virgo from 2:27 am CT Tuesday until 8:38 am CT Thursday.

How to work with it: This combination of a Virgo Moon in Scorpio Season is a very healing one. Virgo loves to make sure everything is working well and your health is on track. If it isn’t, or you need to investigate, the Scorpio Sun is right there to hold the magnifying glass. If things get hard, see what the practical next step may be. You could also go outside and breathe the fresh air while sipping on a tea that makes you feel good. The to-do list you may have made to get you through Monday evening is very satisfying to check off too.

Other energy:

In the United States, Tuesday is Election Day. I love that it is happening under a Virgo Moon. Mercury, the ruler of Virgo, is retrograde, so it may help people take another look and make sure it is all what they want it to be. There is some possible expect-the-unexpected energy that peaks at the beginning of the day and could be frustrating. Give yourself enough time to get where you need to be and that may help.

Before going to bed Tuesday it may be helpful to make a to-do list, especially if you have a lot going on, because we have a day long Void of Course Moon on Wednesday.

On Wednesday we have a 31 hour, 41 minute Void of Course Moon from 12:57 am CT until 8:38 am CT Thursday, so the whole day may feel blurry. With this long Void happening the day after the election, it would not surprise me if we do not know all the results at once and find out the final outcome as the day goes on.

As we move through the day, Venus Retrograde makes a beautiful aspect to Jupiter that could bring some heart-centered feelings to the surface. The headline of the day is that Mercury reaches the halfway point of his retrograde at 8:24 am CT Wednesday. You may notice some sudden insights today. If they do not make sense, feel free to write them down.

✨ November 5-6, 2026| Libra Moon + Mars Pre-shadow begins

Wednesday and Thursday

The Moon: The Libra Moon will be here from 8:38 am CT until 4:39 pm CT Saturday.

How to work with it: We are nearing the end of the Moon cycle, and while this is an Air sign, the conversations we have may dig deeper than is always comfortable. You may notice you do not have as much energy as we move through the end of the week, so rest as needed. If things get hard, go back to your breath and take a moment to pause and breathe.

Other energy:

Thursday begins the Mars pre-shadow period leading up to his retrograde, which begins on January 10th. He only retrogrades every 2 years, and in our charts Mars represents our motivation, anger, drive, and determination. With this starting in Leo it could be centered around your creativity and children to begin with. Much will depend on where 20° Leo falls in your chart. You can use the same 3 Step Mini Retrograde Activation Guide I recommend during the Mercury and Venus retrogrades to track your aha moments too.

Throughout the day Thursday you may notice your emotions feel free flowing, and conversations may as well. On Friday the Moon is opposite Saturn while we sleep, and then there are no other major aspects throughout the day. It may feel like a quiet and cozy way to close the week as we start to reflect on what the last 30 days have shown us.

A reminder: we will be sharing the Scorpio New Moon information at 5 pm CT / 6 pm ET during the New Moon Circle. You can sign up through the Link to All Things, or have it automatically saved for you in my Patreon. The written guide will be shared with paid Substack subscribers after the New Moon Circle Friday evening.

🌙 Closing Thoughts

This week is about endings that are not quite endings yet. The Last Quarter Moon asks us to release what is left from the Full Moon cycle. Mercury reaches the midpoint of his retrograde on Wednesday, and Venus is right behind him with both stationing direct on November 13th. If the road still looks blurry, that is normal. You do not need all the answers right now.

Election Day lands under a Virgo Moon with Mercury retrograde, so give yourself extra time and a to-do list before the long Void of Course day on Wednesday. Mars begins his pre-shadow on Thursday, so keep an eye on where 20° Leo falls in your chart. The 3 Step Mini Retrograde Activation Guide is free in the Link to All Things if you want a place to track what you notice.

The Scorpio New Moon Circle is Friday, November 6th at 5 pm CT. If you are in the Between the Moons Patreon your seat is already saved. If not, you can sign up through the Link to All Things, and paid Substack subscribers will get the written guide after the Circle.

Until next week, rest when you need to, write down the insights that do not make sense yet, and be kind to yourself while the horizon is still blurry. 🌙

With love and stardust,

Sarah
