January 3-9| Full Moon and New Beginnings

Transits for January

Hello!

Last week felt like… a lot—for me and for many of the clients I worked with. From emotions to confusion and everything in between, it was all on the table. So if that was you too, please know you weren’t alone.

Now that the Sun is in Sagittarius, things may feel a little lighter. And this week, with Saturn beginning to turn around, we’re officially entering the end of several retrogrades in the coming weeks—including Mercury Retrograde ending on Saturday November 29th. If it’s been hard to see the forest through the trees, maybe this is the week where some light finally shines through.

In the US, many will gather on Thursday to celebrate Thanksgiving. It’s a day where we name what we’re grateful for with the people we love to be around. I want you to know that I’m grateful for you and for the community we’ve created together. Thank you for being part of this journey we share.

✨ January 4 and 5, 2026

Even though the Moon moved into Leo this morning, we may still be feeling the waves from the Cancer Full Moon. It may have even shown up in your dreams from Saturday into Sunday. Full Moon energy often lingers the day before, the day of, and the day after, so this is very normal.

Under a Leo Moon, we all want to shine — either out in the world or with the people we feel most comfortable around. The blend of the Capricorn Sun with this Moon can bring a desire to be recognized for what we do well, and for the way we show up with dignity, integrity, and heart.

The Leo Moon also wants fun and joy. So if things feel heavy or tender after the Full Moon, the question becomes: How can you bring a little joy into the moment?

Some ideas could be:

✅ A movie that makes you laugh

✅ A book that tugs at your heart

✅ A conversation with a dear friend

✅ A small treat or a new outfit that helps you feel like you

This can be a creative and hard-working combination at times. You get to decide how you want to move through this energy — with intention rather than pressure.

✨ January 6 and 7, 2026

Tuesday is a very special day for two reasons.

First, Venus and the Sun meet at 10:35 am CT. When the Sun meets a planet, a new cycle begins. Venus in our charts represents relationships, values, how we manifest, and the contracts we hold with others. The Sun represents your core identity, vitality, and sense of self. When these two meet, their energies blend — highlighting the vitality within your relationships and the values you are living by.

The last time Venus and the Sun met was March 22, 2025, at 2° Aries. You can look back to that time and the area of your chart it activated to reflect on how you’ve grown or changed around these themes since then.

This meeting happens in Capricorn, which can highlight how your values and relationships are expressed in your public life or career. With this alignment occurring so close to the start of the year, it may also support planning around relationship or career goals for 2026. Looking to where 16° Capricorn falls in your chart can offer clues about where this new beginning is unfolding.

The second reason Tuesday is special is that at 10:56 am CT, the Moon moves into Virgo. Under a Virgo Moon, there is often an urge to make things orderly — neat, tidy, and more organized. I often find myself cleaning my office or organizing appointments when the Moon is in Virgo. I don’t plan for it; it just happens naturally.

If you’re looking for supportive days to organize your home after the holidays, these may be it. The gentle caution here is to be kind to yourself. Virgo energy can sometimes lean toward self-criticism or being overly focused on what isn’t perfect — toward yourself or others.

On Wednesday, Venus and Mars meet for their own “new beginning.” The last time they joined was February 20, 2024, also in Capricorn. This alignment blends love and relationships with action and desire.

Themes that may surface include a desire for passion, strong attraction, harmony, and a balance between affection and drive. It can also spark powerful romantic or creative energy. With Capricorn involved, there’s often a wish to make things last — to align heart and action in ways that feel committed and meaningful.

This can be a beautiful day for a date with someone you love or feel drawn to — or even a date with yourself. It’s also a supportive time to tap into creativity. With the Virgo Moon still in play, refining details or tending to something with care may feel especially satisfying.

✨ January 8 and 9, 2026

Thursday can feel like a two-act kind of day. For most of the day, we remain under a Virgo Moon. At 5:22 pm CT, there’s a brief 43-minute Void of Course Moon before she shifts into Libra at 6:05 pm CT — moving us from wanting everything to be orderly into wanting things to feel beautiful and balanced too.

This shift can begin to build tension or frustration, especially as we approach the Last Quarter Moon on Saturday. Thursday evening into Friday, you may notice yourself balancing ambition with a desire for harmony. The Capricorn Sun asks for clear action, while the Libra Moon wants all perspectives considered.

All day Thursday, we are also building toward the Sun–Mars conjunction, exact at 5:41 am CT on Friday morning. The last time this happened was November 18, 2023, at 25° Scorpio.

Mars in our charts represents determination, drive, passion, and anger. When Mars is in Capricorn, that energy becomes especially focused and persistent. As the Sun (our identity and vitality) meets Mars (our drive and action), the two merge — creating courage, confidence, and a strong urge to do something.

This can be supportive for overcoming obstacles and strategic planning. The gentle reminder is to balance this energy with empathy, as it can tip into being overly forceful or bossy if unchecked. With Mars active, it’s also wise to be mindful of sharp objects — and if you’re on the roads from Thursday through Saturday, stay aware, as others may be moving impulsively.

Also on Friday, Venus will oppose Jupiter. Any opposition asks us to meet in the middle. In this case, the tension may show up between relationships and material desires versus emotional needs.

While conflicts could arise, so can growth in love, values, and finances — especially if you’re willing to learn from what’s revealed. With the Full Moon having just occurred in Cancer, emotions may feel amplified.

This aspect asks us to balance the long-lasting structures in our lives with our emotional world. Be mindful of overreactions, set boundaries where needed, and stay open to the emotional growth that may emerge.

✨ Closing Reflection

This week reminds us that new beginnings don’t always start with action. Sometimes they begin with noticing — what feels heavy, what feels tender, and what is asking for care before anything moves forward. If you’re feeling tired, reflective, or emotionally full, nothing has gone wrong. You’re responding to a moment that asks for awareness before acceleration.

As we move toward the weekend, let clarity come from listening rather than pushing. Notice not what you’ve accomplished, but what you now understand more clearly about yourself. Virgo has helped refine, Libra asks for balance, and the Cancer Full Moon showed us where care is needed.

For now, let integration be enough. You don’t need all the answers yet. You’re building something that lasts.
