I hope this note finds you well. Whether you are reading it on Friday as part of my Between the Moons community or here on Saturday — we are on the road heading to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. 🚗
Why, you may ask?
Our youngest is about to start his doctorate there and we are helping him move into his first apartment. Leo Season activates my 4th house — the house of family of origin and your physical home — and rules my 5th house, the house of children and creativity. What a perfect time to make sure he is safe and settled in his new space, don't you think? 🦁❤️
I will be writing an article coming out later in August about helping your children move into college or their first apartment — what tips worked for us and what did not. If you have anything you would like answered, drop it in the comments below!
This week Mercury comes out of his shadow, Chiron stations retrograde, and Venus moves into Libra. Even though the outer planets — Saturn, Pluto, and Neptune — are all retrograde as well, it does feel like we are starting to come out of the shadows, doesn't it? Maybe the light of the Aquarius Full Moon we had last Wednesday is helping with that too. I am not entirely sure — but I am sure that I am glad we are not navigating any of this alone. 🌕

✨ August 3-4, 2026 | Aries Moon → 7 hour 44 pm VOC → Taurus Moon
We may wake up ready to go on Monday with the Aries Moon to start us off! We have a highly motivated and creative vibe accessible to all of us with this Fire sky of Aries Moon and Leo Sun carrying us from Monday into Tuesday. 🔥
In the afternoon at 3:10 pm CT, Chiron stations retrograde at 0° Taurus. Chiron is an asteroid that will be the focus of our Deeper Dive this month — he is the Wounded Healer. In astrology Chiron can represent the wounds that were triggered when we were young or brought in from previous lifetimes. With this retrograde he will be moving back into Aries before turning around again in early January 2027. ❤️🩹
Here are some themes you may notice popping up as triggers to be healed — or in the process of figuring out how to work with:
August to September: Old hurts around money, material security, values, and physical comfort.
September to January: Hurts that we have been working on for a while around personal identity, independence, and how to access your needs at a personal level.
In combination it can look like reevaluating — as retrogrades do — what makes you feel safe so that you can be yourself and share your personal identity. The area of life this focuses on depends on where 0° Taurus through 26° Aries falls in your chart.
As we move into Tuesday we will have a 7 hour, 44 minute Void of Course window from 1:51 pm CT to 9:35 pm CT when the Moon shifts into Taurus. Overall the day may feel motivational — though could be mentally frustrating at times. If frustration does show up, moving your body may help. 🌿

✨ August 5-6, 2026 | Taurus Last Quarter Moon → Venus in Libra + Mercury out of his shadow!
Slow and steady is the vibe under a Taurus Moon. In Leo Season it can also bring a frustration between wanting to keep things the same versus opening up to something new and exciting — and that is very much the Last Quarter Moon energy. Something that may have been released at the Full Moon to bring your most authentic self to the surface needs one final push. We all know the saying — growth happens when you move past your comfort zone. It is okay if it does not always feel comfortable. That is actually the point. 🌿
If you are experiencing some tension, it may start to ease after the Last Quarter Moon peaks at 9:21 pm CT Wednesday. Some ways to work with this energy — give yourself alarms or a countdown when you need to be somewhere. If something is bothering you, what can you do that will bring you joy instead? Could it be eating a sweet treat? Taking a moment to slow down and catch your breath? Or simply going outside and putting your feet in the grass? Any of these may help. 🌱
On Thursday Venus shifts into Libra — under a Taurus Moon, no less. Two signs she rules. In Libra the focus is — how can I be in partnership to the best of my ability and bring harmony to the situation? You may find yourself appreciating art a little more and wanting to bring some romance into your life too. It is worth noting that part of her retrograde — which will begin in October — will be in Libra, though the shadow period for that is still some time away. Whatever house Libra is in for you has the opportunity to be highly activated as we move into the last quarter of the year. 💫
We finish the day with a 6 hour, 43 minute Void of Course window from 6:24 pm CT to 1:07 am CT Friday. Pay attention to your dreams during this one — they may be very interesting. And during this window Mercury will exit his shadow, making the retrograde officially over for a couple of months! 🎉 Now is the time to evaluate what you learned during this retrograde and act on what makes sense for you. What did this cycle show you? 🌙
✨ August 7, 2026 | Gemini Moon
The work week ends under a Gemini Moon in Leo Season. Ideas and creative energies may flow rapidly — and being aware of your energy may be helpful as we are getting to the point in this Moon cycle where it gets less and less. There is an expect-the-unexpected feel today with the Moon checking in with Uranus alongside beautiful aspects to Pluto, Neptune, and Jupiter. So if you find insightful ideas you want to implement for the future — or figure out things you really do not need anymore — it may be easier to let them go here than it was when the Moon was in Taurus. If things get hard, lean into what drives your curiosity. How can you change things up? We have this energy through early Sunday morning — so have at it! ✨
On a personal note — Rich and I will be celebrating 27 years of marriage today. 🥂 We got married under a Venus Retrograde and you may see many pop astrologers say that is a horrible time to do this and that marriages may be doomed. I do not look at it that way. These past 27 years have felt like a blink of an eye — and with both of our children now starting their own lives as young adults, it feels like the beginning of a beautiful new chapter for us too. We will be celebrating after we gather for the Leo Solar Eclipse New Moon Circle happening today! Come join us before we go celebrate. 🌙💛

This week brought us Chiron stationing retrograde, Venus moving into Libra, Mercury finally clearing his shadow, and the Leo Solar Eclipse New Moon Circle happening on Friday — there is a lot happening and yet somehow it all feels like it is starting to breathe a little easier. Like we are genuinely coming out of the shadows. Hence the title! 😄
