Good morning!
This weekend we have the Last Quarter Moon, which means the New Moon is just one week away. To me, it feels like we are building up to crossing the finish line — just like I was about to in this picture. This happens every month when we hit the Last Quarter Moon, mind you, though this cycle feels more personal to me in many ways.
If you are unfamiliar with the Moon Cycle, we look at four moon phases that build on each other: the New Moon, First Quarter Moon, Full Moon, and Last Quarter Moon.
New Moon: Starting new things or manifestations*
First Quarter Moon: A push or nudge can be felt at times to help you get going with what you first wanted from the New Moon.
Full Moon: Releasing* what is not needed — usually tied to the energy of the New Moon.
Last Quarter Moon: A push to release the last bit that you do not want to bring into the new cycle. ➡️ Where we are on Saturday.
*Not advised to actively manifest or release during an eclipse. We will see this later in the summer.
The 3 days leading up to the New Moon are the Balsamic Phase, where we have the opportunity to reflect on what we learned about ourselves from the last cycle.
With the New Moons happening in the later degrees, this phase has been starting when the Moon moves into the sign where the New Moon will occur — which will be Thursday the 14th.
To prepare for the Taurus New Moon happening on Saturday, we will be meeting on Wednesday the 13th to learn about it.
Why Wednesday and not closer to the New Moon?
It's one of those finish line moments I mentioned above happening in real time in real life.
Our youngest will be graduating a year early from college on Saturday, and we will be celebrating that finish line with him.
The Aries New Moon (current cycle) fell in his 6th house — yes, I look at my kids' charts, it is what I do for parents too after all — so it is so fitting that his graduation is happening right before the peak of the New Moon and the Balsamic Phase.
I am sure that all weekend long he will be reflecting and reminiscing on all his favorite memories from his time at college. As parents, we are also reflecting on how fast this day approached and looking forward to seeing what is next for him as he heads to graduate school, pursuing his PhD at the University of Alabama this fall.
Fun side note — I think it is also really cool that three years ago when our oldest graduated from college, it was also on a Taurus New Moon.
As we move from this cycle into the next, know that we are all in it together and there are many opportunities for us to connect should you like extra guidance along the way.

✨ May 9, 2026 - Aquarius Last Quarter Moon
The Last Quarter Moon peaks at 4:10 pm CT Saturday afternoon. We may notice a frustration between wanting to keep things the same because it feels safe (Taurus Sun) and adjusting to new realities or innovative ideas (Aquarius Moon).
Our minds may be busy — Aquarius is an Air sign, after all — so being mindful of our words may be helpful. Aquarius energy can feel detached at times, and if that carries through into communications, things could be misinterpreted. If things get hard remember to turn to your breath, it may help to if things seem out of sorts.
You may also notice some harmony in relationships or finances as we approach the Last Quarter Moon, which may be especially helpful if you are working toward goals you want to last.
As the evening goes on, if you are feeling frustrated, it may start to ease. The Moon will enter a Void of Course Period (VOC) Sunday morning at 12:08 am and will last until 12:39 pm that afternoon. If you have a busy Sunday morning, it is good to make your to-do list and plan tonight.
✨ May 10-11, 2026 | Aquarius Moon → Pisces Moon
Before I dive into Sunday, for those of you who are moms of any kind (those with two feet or four, wings or scales, and bonus too) Happy Mothers Day! I know
First, dreams may be very interesting to pay attention too as the moon is in a VOC time while we are sleeping on Sunday. Sometimes it can be hard to remember them, though I find when I set an intetion before I go off to sleep of "if it is something important for me to remember make it easy for me to do so" helps. I give other ideas in my article "How to Rest, Sleep, and Actually Remember Your Dreams" you can read when you click this button.
If you have a lot to do in the morning making sure to give yourself enough time may feel best, espedialy if you feel fuzzy headed. At 12:39 pm CT the moon moves into Pisces and will be there until 7:03 pm CT Tuesday. Under a Pisces Moon in Taurus season you may find yourself drawn to creative persuits that ignite your five senses. This is quite a lovely combo for such endvors. It is common to feel sensitive or even cry easily under a Pisces Moon. Intuition can also be heightened along with your ability to be patient and epathic.
Some things to always be aware of with this Pisces moon in particular is having a plan if you need to take a break or escape so it can be done in a healthy way, knowing you don't need to bear the burden to keep the peace if that is not something you want to do, and stubborness. If you have children you may notice this in them most. If things get hard taking a moment to come back to your body, breathe, drink your water and reset may all be helpful.
As we move from Monday into Tuesday emotions may feel even bigger and there may be a frustration with communication around relationships as well. From 5:04 am - 7:03 pm CT there will be a VOC window. Here are a few reminders for these longer windows of VOC times:
✅ Great for: Meditating, Finishing up existing projects, Taking walk, Resting or napping, Creating a to-do list Monday to use Tuesday
🚫 Maybe skip: Starting something brand new, Making major decisions, Being hard on yourself 🤪
✨ May 12 - 13 | Pisces Moon → Aries
Tuesday can feel like a two-act day energy-wise, as we move from a Void of Course window throughout the day into an Aries Moon. Using the suggestions above may help if the day feels fuzzy at times.
With the Moon moving into Aries at 7:03 pm on Tuesday, be sure to give yourself extra time to wind down if needed. There could also be intuitive hits throughout the day that seem to just drop into your thoughts and conversations — especially if they seem to revolve around what makes you feel safe. If they don't make sense at the time, don't worry about it. Maybe just make a note so you have it when you need it.
Under an Aries Moon it is normal to want to go, go, go. However, you may find that you lose steam depending on how fast you push. We are nearing the end of the Moon cycle after all, and as her light gets less and less, so does our energy. That said, if things get hard, moving your body could be helpful.
On Wednesday, the Moon will check in with Neptune, Pluto, and Saturn — all while we are sleeping. It may be interesting to see if you have any insights in your dreams that can help you figure out how to transform your current reality from the inside out in a way that feels sustainable. Setting an intention Tuesday night to try and remember them may be helpful. As you move through the day, these drop-ins may happen throughout it, so staying aware and having a way to write them down may be helpful.
✨ May 14 -15 | Aries Moon → Taurus Moon
Another two-act day to start our Thursday, as we will have an Aries Moon until 9:31 pm CT when she moves into Taurus. There is only about a 5-hour VOC window from 4:30–9:31 pm CT to be aware of.
Before the Moon changes signs, Mercury — our mind and communication — will meet up with the Sun (ego) and hold hands. This can lead to interesting insights throughout the day that you feel you can move forward with. You get to decide the timing, as always.
When the Moon officially moves into Taurus, you may find yourself reflecting on what the last 30 days of this Moon cycle has shown you as we move through Friday and into Saturday. We will have a Taurus Moon with a Taurus Sun, so I would advise giving yourself plenty of time to get where you are going if you are out and about. Going too fast can sometimes make people feel grouchy when the Sun and Moon are both in Earth signs, after all.
The New Moon happens at 3 pm CT on Saturday, May 16th— I'll share more at the New Moon Circle on the 13th and in next week's email. Also, be watching for a special announcement regarding my book on Sunday the 17th!
✨ Final Thoughts
What a week we have ahead of us. From the tension and release of the Aquarius Last Quarter Moon, to the dreamy and intuitive Pisces Moon, into the fiery get-up-and-go of the Aries Moon, and finally settling into the grounded and sensory Taurus Moon just in time for the New Moon — each day is building toward something. We are collectively crossing a finish line and getting ready to begin again.
Take note of what comes up for you this week. The dreams, the drop-ins, the moments of clarity and the moments that feel heavy. It is all information. It is all part of the cycle.
If you would like to walk into this Taurus New Moon with intention and a little extra guidance, I would love for you to join me at the New Moon Circle on Wednesday, May 13th at 6 pm ET / 5 pm CT / 3 pm PT. We will slow down together, work with the chart, and set the tone for what is coming. Use the "Link to All Things" to register and I will see you there. 🌑✨
Thank you for taking the time to read my musings. It is my hope they are helpful to all.
With love and stardust,
Sarah
