April 11-17| New Cycles

Winter wonderland is upon us as we go into our final week of Sagittarius season leading to the Sagittarius New Moon

Good morning!

Last week I shared that the energy had the potential to be motivating if we chose to work with it — thanks to what Mars was offering. Personally, it ended up feeling…overwhelming. Mars is funny that way. I talked about it on my social media here and why it helped to know that this kind of energy is temporary:

There is real comfort in knowing that cycles move through us. A big part of the New Moon Circle is recognizing what is happening around us, naming it, and then processing it. When that energy comes back around, having been through it once may give us something to build on. At least, that is the hope I hold for each New Moon Circle.

This week may feel like a lot too. Time will tell — everyone takes in energy differently. This will be the last full week of Aries season, leading into the New Moon in Aries on Friday. We'll also see Mercury moving into Aries, both Mars and Mercury meeting up with Neptune, and the Sun meeting up with Chiron. If you take nothing else from this email, take this — if things get hard, it may help to lean into whatever element the Moon is in to help regulate. I'll be sharing ideas throughout the week, and trust me, I'll be using them too. This is not a message of fear. It is one of empowerment. I don't believe in fear-based astrology — it simply isn't helpful. We've got this, and we are not alone.

Building to the New Moon to start our week.

The beginning of the work week features a beautiful interaction between Venus and Jupiter, followed by the Moon moving into Pisces, and Mercury having an easy interaction with Uranus before moving into Aries.

Let's break it down, shall we?

Venus and Jupiter are the two "benefics" of the zodiac. Venus in our charts represents relationships, values, and finances — and Jupiter expands all of them. Since this happens early Monday morning, we may have already felt this energy over the weekend. It can give a rose-colored glasses kind of feel to your relationships or to a purchase you've really been wanting. If it feels like it's opening doors to new opportunities — especially ones that help you feel emotionally secure — yes, that is absolutely a possibility.

When the Moon moves into Pisces just 35 minutes later, it can heighten that warm, lovey-dovey feeling that was just described. Under a Pisces Moon we can sometimes feel overwhelmed, so having a little toolbox of ideas ready may be helpful. Things like setting a timer if you want to nap or scroll — giving yourself permission without losing track of time. This can also be a very inspired couple of days, as creativity and intuition tend to run high under this Moon sign, especially with Mercury — our planet of mind and communication — wrapping up its time in Pisces.

On Tuesday, Mercury and Uranus are in an easy conversation with each other, bringing an expect-the-unexpected kind of energy around your thoughts and communications for most of the day. Pay attention to any flashes of insight that come through and write them down, even if they don't make sense in the moment.

At 10:21 pm CT, Mercury moves into Aries, beginning a new cycle. With this shift, your thoughts may genuinely feel clearer — and not just because we are fully out of retrograde! Mercury in Aries can be focused, decisive, and very direct. Sometimes that directness moves faster than we realize, so if you're unsure whether something could be taken the wrong way, it's always worth running it by a friend before hitting send. How this energy shows up for you personally will depend on where Aries lives in your chart.

If things get hard, lean back into those Pisces Moon tools, drink your water, and rest when you need to.

April 15 - 16, 2026

Mercury is back in Scorpio as we continue to build to the New Moon

At 9:03 am Wednesday morning, the Moon moves into Aries and we are officially in the Balsamic phase. If that's a new term for you, the Balsamic phase is the quiet, winding-down portion of the lunar cycle — the space between the last sliver of the moon and the New Moon. It is a time for releasing, reflecting, and preparing to begin again.

While this is a double fire sky — both the Sun and Moon in Aries — there is very little to no light in the sky from our dear Luna. This is the time of the month to reflect on what the last moon cycle in Pisces brought us, and our last opportunity to release anything we don't want to carry into this first New Moon of the Zodiacal year.

On Thursday, the Aries Sun joins hands with Chiron, giving a very personal feeling to whatever healing journey you are on — especially if it touches on your sense of self worth.

Mars also makes a beautiful aspect to Pluto, lending an energy of wanting to take back the reins of your personal path — especially if it has felt restricted lately.

Mercury joins hands with Neptune as well. This can feel like quick mental energy merging with imagination, spirituality, and maybe even some idealism that's a little hard to pin down. Stay open to any intuitive hits that come through — this can be a very creative space. Going with your gut may prove especially helpful today. This energy may also have you reevaluating some boundaries. It's worth noting that this is the first time this particular interaction happens in Aries, so it will be interesting to watch what this new cycle builds on as Neptune settles in and Mercury comes back to visit each year.

If things get hard, moving your body can help — but so can rest. We are in the Balsamic phase after all, and the two are not mutually exclusive. Active rest counts too. Reading a book while telling yourself "I am resting now" is a completely valid choice. Give yourself permission to do that.

Scorpio New Moon helps us dig in deep

At 6:51 am CT we will have our New Moon, followed by a four hour Void of Course period. During a Void of Course Moon it is generally best to avoid starting new things or making big decisions. With that in mind, waiting until the Moon moves into Taurus at 10:57 am CT to act on your New Moon intentions may give them a stronger foundation to root into.

It's worth noting that there are six planets in Aries for this New Moon, plus Chiron the wounded healer. Aries is the "I am" of the Zodiac. Neptune, Mercury, Mars, and Saturn are all within the first 7° of the sign, while Chiron, the Sun, and the Moon are gathered in the last 3°. With this kind of energy stacking up at both the beginning and end of the sign, it can feel like you have a lot of momentum to get something started — the question is just deciding what you want to begin and which direction to take it.

On top of that, there may be some expect-the-unexpected energy surfacing around your finances and relationships, as Venus inches closer to Uranus in Taurus. And last but not least, Pluto is still in that beautiful aspect with Mars, continuing to support personal transformation and empowerment.

I'll share the specifics of this New Moon's energy — along with ideas on how to work with it — during the New Moon Circle.

Mantra for this New Moon: "I trust myself to know where to begin."

After 10:57 am CT the Moon moves into Taurus, giving us an opportunity to ground into this New Moon energy. The energy available to us as we close out the week is one of savoring — slowing down and appreciating what is right in front of you. If the world feels heavy today, grabbing your favorite treat or a piece of chocolate may taste extra sweet. So might stepping outside and saying hello to the trees.

Final Thoughts

This week carries a lot of energy but also a lot of invitation. We open the week with an Aquarius Moon reminding us to show up authentically and lean on our people. As we move into the early work week, Venus and Jupiter wrap us in warmth and possibility while Pisces fuels our creativity and intuition. Mercury's shift into Aries mid-week brings mental clarity and directness, and the Balsamic phase invites us to slow down and release before the big moment arrives. Thursday layers in healing, transformation, and boundary awareness before we arrive at Friday's Aries New Moon — the first of the Zodiacal year — asking us simply to trust ourselves and begin. It is a full week, but every piece of it is moving us forward.

Thank you for taking the time to read my musings. It is my hope they are helpful to all.

With love and stardust,

Sarah
